Jesus said:
"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you."
John 15:18-19
Also I think of the reaction of the Pharisees when Stephen finished his address in which he had exposed their sin and rebellion.
In Acts 7:54 we read:
"When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth."
"Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you." 1 John 3:13
"Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." Rom. 8:7
